Your Contact Lens Exam & Fitting

Your contact lens exam and fitting begin with a thorough evaluation of your eyes, where our doctors confirm your prescription and ensure you don’t have eye issues that may prevent you from wearing contacts.

Everyone’s eyes are unique, so we take precise measurements using corneal mapping to get the full picture.

Following testing and measurement, we’ll send you home with a trial pair to determine how well your eyes respond to your new lenses. If you’re not sold on your new lenses, that’s completely fine! Sometimes you may have to try out multiple lenses before we confirm that perfect fit.

Our Specialty Contact Lenses

Contact lenses fall under 2 main categories, soft contact lenses, and rigid gas permeable (RGP). Specialty contacts fall under these main main categories and help address various vision issues.

Ortho-K Lenses

Orthokeratology, also known as ortho-k lenses, is an excellent option for many patients with mild to moderate myopia (nearsightedness). These lenses are proven to reduce the progression of myopia in kids.

Ortho-k contact lenses are put in at bedtime, allowing them to gently reshape your cornea overnight. They are designed to help reduce your dependence on both contact lenses and glasses to see clearly throughout the day.

Scleral contact lenses are a great option for patients with “hard-to-fit-eyes” who have had difficulty wearing contacts because of conditions like dry eye disease and keratoconus. While traditional contact lenses only cover the cornea, scleral lenses also cover the sclera (the white part of your eye) to make them more stable and prevent slippage every time you blink.

The design of scleral lenses allows for extra space over your cornea’s surface for extra breathability by acting as a fluid reservoir to provide comfort for dry eyes.

Toric contact lenses are designed to help correct astigmatism and are custom-made to fit your eyes. These lenses come in the soft and RGP varieties and contain multiple powers, one vertical and the other horizontal.

Toric lenses are available in every wearing schedule, from daily disposable to long-term wear. Because of the level of customization toric lenses offer, they may require extra adjustments to get the right fit.

Multifocal contact lenses can have a bifocal and trifocal design with distinct lens powers to correct vision at varying distances. Multifocal and bifocal lenses are designed to correct presbyopia and myopia and can eliminate the need for reading glasses.

Multifocal contact lenses can also help slow the progression of myopia in children. Multifocal lenses can help slow eye growth and, as a result, prevent children’s lens prescriptions from worsening.

Multifocal lenses are available in soft and RGP options and are available in different wearing schedules like daily or extended overnight wear. Our team can help you get a precise fit during the fitting process!
